Burnley FC in the Community kitchen
At the start of 2018 we were asked if we could help out with the stripping out of an old shop unit on Charter Walk in Burnley. The unit had been taken over by Burnley FC in the Community to convert it into a Community Kitchen, Food Bank, and Community area.
VIC members were only asked to strip out old shop fittings and prepare the walls for painting so it would be ready for a team of shop fitters and organisations to convert it to a Cafe, a teaching kitchen, some offices, a Food Bank and a communal area with some computers.
It was launched in November 2018 and the Community Cafe would host the Burnley Veterans Breakfast Club. In 2020 it was handed over the Calico.
