Veterans In Production

Veterans In Production (VIP)

In 2017 VIC received a grant of £8000 from the Army Benevolent Soldier Charity for our Veterans In Production (VIP) project using the workshop to manufacture a range of wooden garden furniture. VIP was conceived from our  ‘Dig for VIC’, a project funded late in 2014 through a Social Prescribing grant provided by East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (ELCCG) in conjunction with Burnley, Pendle, and Rossendale Community Volunteer Services (BPRCVS).

Veterans In Production aims to use as much recycled materials as we possibly can through donations of pallets and unused materials. Our members will use skills we have developed from our military and civilian careers.

Two of the first community projects for VIP was to build a community notice board for a local community group in Weir in Rossendale to replace one that was damaged, and to refurbish an old children's playhouse for the children of our local school. Unfortunately the children's play house was vandalised and we had to replace with a new one.

Much of the raised beds and furniture for our allotment in Helmshore was made under the VIP. During May 2018 members constructed a number of raised beds that went to horse sanctuary Only Foals and Horses in Oswaldtwistle.

If you would like to like more information on Veterans In Production or world like to speak to us about any ideas you might have then please either email or Bob Elliott or call the main office on 01706 833180
