Our community projects and activities services are designed, developed and are delivered by VIC members. Many of our members have served in the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force or Emergency Services or have an association with the Armed Forces Community in some way. During our service in the Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force we leave with a range of qualifications, skills and experiences that are not always transferable or recognised in civilian life or in future employment. Our community projects and activities not only give us the opportunity to showcase these skills but also give the opportunity to gain qualifications.
VIC members have been involved in the development of our Community Project and Activities, and many of the community based projects provide some local labour and expertise to the local communities. Some examples of the work VIC have already undertaken includes; maintaining gardens and communal areas, rebuilding a dry stone wall in a remembrance garden, erecting and dismantling of sheds, replacing WW1 headstones in a local cemetery under our Operation War Graves funded programme, manufacturing garden and street furniture,
