Middleton Allotment
VIC were offered an allotment in Middleton in July as one of the activities that members of VIC and those from the community in HMR (Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale) where they could meet, and grow produce. It was an unused plot in Langley that was overgrown and although there were allotments previously they had not been used by the community for some time.
Tony Stubbs our outreach lead for Middleton took on this project with a small group of veterans that attended the weekly outreach at the Lighthouse Project. The allotment is part of the Status 4 All’s Leisure Garden and Allotments on Latrigg Crescent, Middleton.
At the beginning of this year (2017) we signed for a further allotment, where there is a large Poly Tunnel which will be used to grow and cultivate flowers and plants for this year.
