Veterans Art Organisation (VAO)The VAO (Veterans Arts Organisation) is a Facebook group created in January 2013 by Darren Horsnell and his partner Tracey Vick for veterans and their family members who enjoy Art at all levels. Darren uses Art himself as a way of expressing his emotions or feelings.
Whether you find it therapeutic or just as a hobby, Art can also give you a chance to express how we may feel that words sometimes cannot. All forms of arts and crafts, poems, photography or sculpting can also give us a sense of value and self-worth. The groups aim is to give Veterans and their family an opportunity to display their work nationwide through social media. By displaying your work for others to see can help with your self-esteem or just to encourage a hobby. We do not sell or promote other artists work, pages or websites. With your support and as a family of art lovers we will grow and continue to support each other. |

Someone, once told me that poetry was an excellent aid and accompaniment, to whatever your chosen art form is, so maybe try entering a piece along with your painting or photograph, you never know, you may just enjoy it. Paul is a former teacher turned poet, presenter and performer. (He likes a good bit of alliteration) He has written six books of poetry and one novel, touring the country sharing his work with teachers and pupils all over the UK as well as performing at community and business events.
