VIC Peer Support Pathway
The Veterans In Communities ‘veteran to veteran Peer Support’ Pathway is a three stage model.
Stage One
The member of the armed force community is introduced to Veterans In Communities through either a direct referral from statutory services, DWP, GP’s and health workers, drug and alcohol services, mental health teams, community groups or organisations, third sector ex-service organisations, through initial contacts through social media or website, or drop-in at an outreach venue.
Stage Two
The member of the armed forces community gets involved in any of the projects or organised activities led by a VIC core member who has already completed the Peer Support Model.
Stage Three
The VIC core team member will have identified a volunteer member in the first two Stages, and who has expressed an interest in taking more of an active lead in the projects and activities. They will be developed and trained by the VIC core team.
