Veterans In Communities Privacy Notice
Veterans in Communities (VIC) exists to support ex-services and emergency services personnel and their families become part of their communities. To do this we hold the personal, and sometimes sensitive, data of our members, volunteers, staff, supporters and professional contacts. We will never sell that data or make it available to marketing companies.
We use your data to; keep you informed of the services and activities available at VIC and how to access them; provide support to you; anonymously monitor the organisation to identify any gaps in service. Your data is stored both electronically on password protected computer systems, and in hard copy in locked filing cabinets. We will only keep your data as long as is needed or is laid down by law.
In most cases the only people who will see your data are VIC staff and outreach volunteers. Sometimes we need to pass your data to other organisations so that you can have access to other services and support. Wherever possible this will be done only with your consent. There are some occasions when we do not require your consent, such as safeguarding issues, knowledge of a crime or legal requirements.
You are entitled to view, amend or delete the personal information that we hold. To do so, please contact the Data Controller, Amanda Walton, Chief Executive Officer, and she can be reached at VIC, 12 Bury Road, Haslingden BB4 5PL, or by telephone on 01706 833180. Her email is amandawalton@vic.org.uk
