Westbourne, Helmshore
Westbourne is a retirement housing scheme in Haslingden managed by Anchor Homes, that offers purpose built accommodation for rent for people over the age of 55.
We were approached in July after the work we had done in DIG for VIC garden was seen by the Manager at Westbourne, we were asked to build some raised beds so their residents could benefit from the garden.
A small team of our members used their experience gained at the VIC Centre on the Dig For VIC project to complete this garden project in four days. We have had enquires from a number of other residential homes and Rossendale Hospice to build raised beds and to do some general garden maintenance.
